Qui and Kim Nguyen purchased a 1.3-acre homesite at Lake Ridge and they weren't disappointed.

The Lake Ridge community in Cedar Hill features wooded homesites with lake and skyline views.

In southwest Dallas County, Lake Ridge offers views of Joe Pool Lake and the Dallas and Fort Worth skylines.

After hearing Lake Ridge advertisements, the Arlington couple visited the community and purchased their homesite with a little urging from their daughters, ages 22, 17 and 4.

The couple will build their home at one of Lake Ridge's gated neighborhoods.

"Our daughters love it," Mr. Nguyen says. "They're the ones that told us to buy the lot. It's on a hill, overlooking the lake. It's beautiful."

Currently, Lake Ridge is offering pre-development pricing in its final gated hilltop neighborhood, The Summit. This weekend only, buyers also can save $10,000 on all homesites through July 2. The Summit features heavily wooded homesites with lake and skyline views.

Lake Ridge offers country living with hilltop views and nearby 7,500-acre Joe Pool Lake, which is ideal for fishing, swimming, boating or skiing.

"There's not much traffic and there are a lot of trees," Mr. Nguyen says.

Other amenities include Valley Ridge Park and Tangle Ridge Golf Club.

With sporting fields, grasslands, a small pond and an amphitheater, Valley Ridge Park is an idea gathering spot for residents. The 154-acre park also includes a playground.

Voted one of the top 10 golf clubs in Texas by Golf Digest, Tangle Ridge Golf Club offers golfers a neighboring course close to home.

In the town of Cedar Hill, Lake Ridge offers country living with access to city amenities, including dining attractions, shopping and health-care facilities.

Dallas and Fort Worth are a short drive away, making commuting convenient.

"I don't want to be too far away from the city," Mr. Nguyen says. "In Cedar Hill, it seems like you're in the country, but you're actually in the city."

Also, as a Bluegreen community, Lake Ridge offers its property owners the opportunity to build on their own time schedule and choose their own custom builder.
